brighton-seoHere at Barefoot, we love a conference. Combine a nice day away from computer screens, a chance to catch up with people we see far too infrequently, and the kind of talks which make you realise just how vibrant and exciting this industry is, and you’ve got a cracking day. Fortunately, Brighton happens to have some of the best web design, UX, gaming, and digital conferences in the country. Here are a few that were looking forward to during 2017.

Brighton Digital Festival

From 15 September to 13 October the Brighton Digital Festival will run for the seventh year in a row. We love the Brighton Digital Festival because it’s broad enough to attract the public rather than merely industry professionals. Last year saw some awesome events involving ones about graphic novels, Minecraft workshops as well as the innovative challenges to demonstrate gaps in accessible technology. It’s fun, it’s very Brighton, and it really champions the city as a hub for the U.K.’s digital culture.

Brighton SEO

The Brighton SEO conference, of course, needs little introduction. This one day conference has become a high point of the annual SEO calendar during search geeks from all over the country, and some of the industry’s brightest talent. The next ones happening on 7 April 2017 the Brighton Centre and looking at some other speakers have already confirmed, were in for a treat. Christopher Centre, with his orange jacket, is presenting on his favourite subject. There are speakers from Koozai, Microsoft, the Daily Mail and even Moz. Brighton SCO is a fantastic networking event, too, so if you’re involved in web design or related fields within Brighton will see there.

UX Brighton

There is no date yet on the http://uxbrighton.org.uk/ website but this awesome gathering, usually in November sometime ,brings together the best UX minds from around the country and occasionally further afield. UX Brighton is a seminal event for industry professionals and we wouldn’t miss it.

The Meaning Conference

Again no date set for the Meaning conference 2017 but happened last year towards the end of November. Meaning conference is a quirky, intellectual, thought-provoking gathering which talks about community, post capitalist economics, and the future of our work in society. Happening in the dome and corn exchange which we urge you not to miss. http://2016.meaningconference.co.uk/#About

UX camp Brighton

Although it claims to be an ‘unconference’, UX Camp is essentially a conference, albeit informal and quite unique. Happening this year on Saturday, 25 March 2017 at the Skiff on Cheapside, this is one of the places to find out what’s happening in UX industry. It’s more low-key than UX Brighton expect at least 45 talks, many of them from people just like you.

Develop conference Brighton

Considered Europe’s leading game development conference, the Develop Conference Brighton brings in over 2000 developers to talk about what’s hot in the industry, and one of the trends look out for. One of the sessions are stored online with easy to catch up videos and slide you’ve missed from the hundred or so sessions on offer.
